While we’re happy to see any innovative start up succeed, we’ve been really dissappointed with the constant downtime on Tumblr. So, we’ve moved our blog over to a more stable platform hosted on our server. Please update your links and visit us often for design updates:

House JA
This doublehouse is actually an expansion of a semi house. The architects doubled the living space by connecting two houses, but the extension on the outside was coated with only one material to prevent further heterogeneity. Futagami x Masanori Oji
I did a little write up for Planet Magazine about Japanese designer, Masanori Ojis collaboration with brass makers, Futagami. By now, you’ve probably all seen his amazing brass bottle openers and trivets that came out earlier this year. He has a new line of lights called Ihada and Myojo, handmade by Futagami. You can read the article here.
As a material that’s been used for...

SPREAD ArtCulture Sneak Peak
Just received my copy of SPREAD ArtCulture Magazine, which is due out in August. Merchant no. 4, has two designers and their work featured in an article called ‘Best in Show’, where Design Miami director, Amy Lau, picks her favorite designs. Masakage Tanno’s Wood Card Case is front and center, and Boym Partners’Totem get a nice nod as well. Great magazine with some...

Similar Design.
I like the new Stephen Burks Shelves for Matter, but they look a little too similar to New Zealand label, Candywhistles’ Stix Shelves and Viable Londons Wire Shelves. Think I like Candywhistles best because you can use the wire to hold up books. Hmm, which do you prefer?
